/ Overview
A clay studio render transformed into a fully detailed, photorealistic modern living room. The aim was to show precise lighting, material texturing and a believable atmosphere — turning the raw geometry of an expansive, glass-walled interior into an inviting, high-end design visual.

/ Challenge
Photorealism depended on precisely calibrating translucent materials and the complex indirect light bouncing from a large window array. Tuning the glass reflections without washing out the foliage outside was the hardest part. Realistic light falloff and subtle micro-scratches on glass and wood got the scene there without it looking artificial.
/ Key features
Clay-to-final workflow
A clean base scene to lock in layout, camera angles and proportions before adding complex materials.
Lighting & environment
Soft natural daylight through floor-to-ceiling grid windows, balanced with background foliage and soft shadows.
PBR texturing
Woven upholstery, natural wood grain, polished glass and subtle floor imperfections.
Styling & composition
A plush sectional, low glass coffee table, floor lamp, textured rug and ceramics to set context and scale.

/ Solution
The final render bridges digital CAD geometry and real interior photography. The side-by-side progression shows how shading, texturing and atmospheric lighting lift a grey-box model into a high-end architectural piece, ready for client presentations and portfolios.
/ Tech stack
Blender / 3ds Max
Scene assembly and geometry optimisation.
Corona / V-Ray
Physically accurate ray tracing, global illumination and realistic light bounces.
PBR materials
Realistic fabric, glass, wood and metal shaders.
Photoshop / Lightroom
Colour grading, contrast and subtle bloom in post.
